โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในขณะที่บริษัทกำลังเตรียมตัวสำหรับการเสนอขายหุ้น IPO มูลค่า 2 ล้านล้านบาท

Anthropic, the AI company behind Claude and founded by former OpenAI team members, recently faced an unexpected crisis.

The source code for "Claude Code"—an AI tool designed to assist with programming—leaked to the public, totaling over 512,000 lines of code.

What is surprising is that this incident was not the result of a hack, but rather "Human Error."

The code was published and spread rapidly on GitHub (a platform for software developers), allowing thousands of developers to access and copy it within just a few hours.

How does this situation impact Anthropic?

This mistake allowed the public to discover more than 1,900 TypeScript files, over 512,000 lines of code, and a complete set of backend instructions and tools.

A user posted access to this code on the X platform, where the post quickly gained traction and went viral, reaching over 21 million views.

Anthropic itself has come forward to confirm that user data remains 100% safe. They clarified that the root cause was not a cyberattack, but a "human error" occurring during the software packaging process for release.

So, how does this affect Anthropic’s business secrets?

A source code leak is a major issue with significant consequences, as source code represents the instructions and structures that define how software functions.

However, even though the source code leaked, it was not the core model for Claude 3.5 or 4.

What actually leaked was the code for the "Agentic Tool" used for programming. Therefore, competitors will only see "how the assistant system was built" rather than the "secrets behind the AI itself."

Nevertheless, exposing this data allows rival AI companies and independent developers to study the architecture and development methods behind Claude Code in depth.

This could enable competitors to further develop their own AI tools with significantly less time and fewer resources.

This is a particularly critical moment, as technology companies worldwide are currently racing to build AI tools to challenge Claude Code directly.

Furthermore, this leak is being viewed as a blow to Anthropic’s operational reputation.

This is especially sensitive as the company prepares for an IPO valued at approximately 2 trillion baht ($60 billion).

Another equally important issue is the trust in Anthropic as a company, as this is not the first time such an incident has occurred.

Anthropic faced a similar problem back in 2025 when "Prompt Logs" (conversation records and usage data) from certain beta test groups, along with internal guidelines for training Claude, were leaked.

These recurring issues reflect persistent vulnerabilities in Anthropic's own internal system management.

Even though Anthropic is a leading AI firm creating cutting-edge models—to the point of causing global software stocks to dip because investors fear the industry is being disrupted—the company still suffers from "human error" within its own walls.
